COMEX Copper advances above $4.40 per pound

COMEX Copper futures rose today amid supportive equities. A recovery from four-month lows stayed in place for the metal and the counter currently quotes at $4.42 per pound, up 0.83% on the day. Copper had lost nearly 24% last week as US tariff policy cues led to a frantic drop. In equities today, China's Shanghai Composite index added 0.66% as markets eyed US-China trade deal. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index closed flat while Japan's Nikkei average rose 0.60%. Australian benchmark S&P/ASX 200 climbed 0.84% to a record as well. European stocks saw modest advances today amid positive earnings. MCX Copper futures are quoting at Rs 884.20 per kg, up 0.40% on the day amid a steady upturn as lows around 880 per kg capped losses.
