(08-Aug-2025, 16:00 Hours IST)
Natural Gas futures moved up above $3 per mmbtu mark following the latest US inventory data. Working gas in storage across the United States stood at 3,139 billion cubic feet in the week ending August 1, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) revealed in its report released on Thursday. The figure marks a net increase of 7 billion cubic feet compared to the week before. On an annual basis, the natural gas stockpiles fell by 137 billion cubic feet and were 173 billion cubic feet above the five-year average of 2,957 billion cubic feet. The total working gas was within the five-year historical range. However, the surplus over the five-year average has reduced compared to 195 Bcf the week before. This was also the smallest weekly increase of the 2025 injection season for US gas inventories and is supporting the commodity. Natural Gas futures are currently trading up 0.36% at $3.07 per mmbtu. MCX Natural Gas futures are also up 0.56% at Rs 270.20 per mmbtu.
