Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index gains 1.22%

Nifty Metal index ended up 1.22% at 9583.4 today. The index has slipped 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Steel Authority of India Ltd rose 3.34%, JSW Steel Ltd jumped 2.90% and National Aluminium Company Ltd gained 1.47%. The Nifty Metal index has soared 42.00% over last one year compared to the 26.44% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Pharma index gained 1.10% and Nifty Media index increased 1.07% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.38% to close at 24951.15 while the SENSEX increased 0.35% to close at 81741.34 today.
