Quick Wrap: Nifty Pharma Index rises 2.35%

Nifty Pharma index closed up 2.35% at 22240.2 today. The index is down 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd gained 3.79%, Divis Laboratories Ltd added 3.71% and Alkem Laboratories Ltd rose 3.40%. The Nifty Pharma index is up 37.00% over last one year compared to the 19.86% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Commodities index added 1.54% and Nifty Infrastructure index gained 1.53% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.91% to close at 24131.1 while the SENSEX added 0.96% to close at 79802.79 today.
