Economic Buzz: China's Exports Dip 7.5% On Year In March, Imports Fall 1.9%

China?s exports dropped significantly in March compared to last year. Exports declined by 7.5 per cent from a year earlier in March to US$279.7 billion, according to customs data released on Friday. However, on a quarterly basis, exports rose by 1.5 per cent in the first three months of the year, following a contraction of 1.2 per cent in the previous quarter. China?s imports in March also fell by 1.9 per cent from a year earlier, in contrast to 3.5 per cent growth in the first two months of the year. China?s trade surplus stood at US$58.6 billion in March, compared with US$125.1 billion in the first two months of the year.
