The Nifty May 2022 futures were at 16,309.95, a premium of 8.1 points as compared with the Nifty's closing of 16,301.85 in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 76.64 lakh crore compared with Rs 61.52 lakh crore reported in the previous session. In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index lost 109.40 points or 0.67% to settle at 16,301.85. The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, advanced 3.68% to 22.0325. Reliance Industries (RIL), Infosys and HDFC Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in the F&O segment of NSE. The May 2022 F&O contracts will expire on 26 May 2022.
